When you dress up in a suit, it is assumed that you are headed to the office, that you are a serious person. When you dress up in African attire, it shows how proud you are proud of you heritage, but when you dressed in streetwear it is immediately assumed that you are young and therefore immature. Apparently, being artistes, they are allowed self expression, however it manifests itself, not too mention that they have tons of cash and influence on the majority of the population, the youth. So unless you are a person of great influence, or have money in abundance, you will probably have to conform to the rule of suits and ties, this is what makes the world go round.
